About Me
Hello readers,
My name is HEMANT KUMAR. I was born in Delhi, raised in Gurgaon (Haryana), but my family roots trace back to Kolkata. Currently, I’m on an exciting journey to upskill myself in Digital Marketing, holding a Bachelor’s degree in English Honours. However, what truly defines me beyond education is my deep love for travel — a passion that feels almost hereditary, passed down from my father.

My first memorable trip was to Mussoorie in Uttarakhand in 2021. That journey sparked a flame that has only grown brighter over time. Since then, I have explored many places, each with its own unique charm and story. Growing up, my father never discouraged my wanderlust. In fact, he was my biggest cheerleader. Often, I’d be busy packing for yet another trip, and he’d walk in, ask where I was headed this time, and after my usual reply — “On a trip, back in two or three days” — he’d simply say, “Go carefully.” Those words stayed with me and still remind me to travel thoughtfully and respectfully.
I started StillUnseen with a clear purpose: to go beyond the usual travel stories and photos, and share my perspective on the world — whether it’s a remote village tucked away in the hills or a bustling, popular tourist destination. Every place, no matter how famous, holds secrets and experiences that often go unnoticed. My goal is to uncover those hidden gems and tell their stories honestly, capturing not only the sights but the feelings, lessons, and culture that come with every journey.

Through this blog, I don’t just want to highlight offbeat destinations and hidden places across India; I want to share my personal travel experiences — the highs, the challenges, and the learnings — to help you explore smarter, deeper, and with more heart. One of the key moments that shaped StillUnseen was when I planned a budget trip to Kedarnath and Manali in 2022. I struggled to find practical, budget-friendly information online. Most blogs focused heavily on the beauty and tourist appeal but lacked details on affordable travel options, local transport, budget stays like homestays and hostels, or tips on exploring without overspending. So, I decided to travel without advance bookings, gather local info as I went, and build my itinerary on the fly. This approach taught me invaluable lessons about travel flexibility and real-world planning — lessons I now want to share with you.
Looking ahead, I dream of taking my travels beyond India, embarking on a world tour, and bringing those experiences to you here on StillUnseen. Until then, I invite you to join me as I explore the unseen corners of India, one journey at a time.
Thank you for being here. There’s a vast world out there waiting to be discovered — and I’m excited to uncover it with you.
Safe travels,
Hemant Kumar
